I belong with the darkness, I owe it my soul, my keep, my everything.Darkness had long since taken over the day. However, it was bright out. The moon's rays shining down upon the beach, showering it in all its glory. The sand appeared to be a bright white because of the moon, when perhaps it was a tainted during the day. The dark, pitch black water looked clear as down. Rolling for miles and miles. Never revealing the underwater rocks that lurked below along with the many dangerous creatures that also lurked at a time like this. Waiting for any being much too stupid to turn away from the beauty this scene created. It was still...Almost too quiet. Like the world was holding its breath because something bad was about to happen. Not even a gentle breeze dare blew at a time like this. Not a thing made a sound or moved from their hiding spots.
Those dark brown orbs of color watched below the surface. Fascinated by the speckles that glistened because of the moon. He longed to be upon the beach as the water was beginning to grow old to him. True, a Kelpie enjoyed the water, but Exodus grew bored quickly of things and when this new place shinning before him, he couldn't resist. Kicking his back legs, he moved forward slowly. Tail wavering back and forth like a engine when really it was only a banner of silky hair rinsed constantly by the waters. The surface suddenly broke as he propelled himself upon the sand. The grains slipping upon his massive black hooves. His nostrils flared to life and engulfed the oxygen around him.His lungs expanded and took in this new substance they rarely got to hold. He paused for just a moment. The water still up to his chest, soaking his body before he finally took the remaining steps to be completely on land. He allowed his eyes to adjust to the difference in light as it was much brighter than the depths of the sea. A long, ebony black forelock covered his left eye though he could see threw the strands. His finely muscled neck turned to see the water he disturbed only to find it looking like glass once more. A smile drew upon his features before he turned his large dome back around and the smile vanished as well. A stone cold look came upon him and he took a step forward before taking another. Ribbons of tendons seen clearly as he moved, etching themselves all the way up his foreleg before disappearing in his shoulder blade under the solid muscle. He was a large beast, standing at 16.3 hands though not uncommon for his Friesian bloodlines that raced threw him.
A moment later he found himself bathing in the moonlight. Not caring much to hid in the shadows as his ears were alert and would hear movement before his eyes caught it. The light showed the tiny scars marking his body. Cris crossed ones upon his chest and then smaller ones along his shoulders and back. A pelt of ebony covered his muscle and organs, though not flawless, it was shiny with the water droplet lingering in the fine hairs. A mane of silky hair lay across his neck and reaching well past his shoulder blade. A good foot of wavy hair dangling down with water as it began to pool in small puddles around him. His tail, a shade lighter than his body, was off the ground about a foot and a half so sand getting caught it in wasn't a problem. However, it was thick and held more water so a larger puddle formed underneath the lengthy hair. Being such a large beast, his hooves sank slightly into the sand. A feeling he enjoyed as it caressed his frog and wall. Removing any seaweed of algae he had picked up with his days of being underwater. Sending a earthquake through his body, he sent most of the water flying before resuming the pace he had set earlier. He found himself drawn to the shadows that the forest created, his nose breathing in the deep smell of females. A smile reaching his features. Looks can be cunning and his surely were. He had the charming look of a handsome gentlemen, but it seemed that underneath were the lethal workings of a monster. Ready to snap...To take action when the time called for it. I wish for her present upon these creatures, But I fear she has creased to exist. ♣♣♣♣♣ My Actions, my actions I can't control. My thoughts upon this pitiful place. The sounds escape my very maw.

I stared for awhile and waited for words Seen but not heard and struggle to try Trust. Truth. What an idiotic notions. Stupid creatures trust. Stupid creatures tell the truth. The truth only leads to despair, and to trust is to beg for someone to betray you. Telling you secrets out of morality is a fault that many have. Their secrets scatter and lose their potency. What a waste. Secrets are meant to be kept in silence, that is was makes them valuable. Something that is too dark to be whispered, that would make even the most blood thirsty flinch, that would make your toes curl. Those are secrets that are kept in silence. The most valuable secrets are those that are next to unbelievable. An act of mercy from a nightmarish figure can be seen as a dark, dark secret. Those secrets, those dark, dark secrets are SIMPLY INTOXACATING.
The owner of these thoughts stood motionless in a warm water of the Kaito. The femme had been standing in the shadows for several moments. She liked to stay close to the land. She refused to long for what she couldn’t have, which was indeed to walk along to sandy shores and kick and frolic among the grasses. This femme was the keeper of secrets: The keeper of those final secrets that those under her trance seemed to be delighted to tell her. Most of these secrets were told to her only moment before she led them into the water, her beauty an impossible temptation. She was known for her voice, but most of the time she could just appear to the weak masculine land walkers and use her pelt, wicked voice and sweet smile to lure them into the darkness. What a sweet, sweet pony she was.
Her golden pelt light up the shadows like a fire burning in the middle of a dark forest. Yet, her stillness, and the depth she found herself in underneath the water kept her presence unknown to those above her. She felt a disturbance in the water above her. Her curiosity idle, the femme inhaled deeply, half of her mind focusing on her past while the other dwelled on the ever remaining fact that she’d not gotten the chance to lure a horse to its death today. The air rushed out of her maw and into the water surrounding her, as she let out a silent sigh. Her golden pelt shivered, creating ripples in the midnight blue water. Her hooves faltered, and she allowed herself to sink softly, a few feet. Drifting down away from the sunlight. The darkness, if anything, soothed her tortured want. She snorted, the clear fluid beside her muzzle, was displaced as bubbles churned the liquid.
Her tail swished, the mixture of golden, and crème colored tresses brushing against her slender hocks. Long lashes curled down softly over the planes of her cheekbones as she shut her eyes and arched out her décolletage. Her ears flattened against the poll of her crown, the barest glimmer of movement from her slender pillars, kept her steadily at her wanted depth. Finally, once she had worked enough of a curiosity to see what lay above her she moved her legs quickly, building up a fast pace as she sailed through the water. The femme stopped a few feet before she hit the surface, choosing to emerge slowly, not caring to what, or to whom, she was revealing herself too.
She lifted another hoof, her shoulders emerged. Rivets of water sparkled down her flanks as she took each step forward, as purposeful as a ruling queen. She did another light toss of her delicately carved cranium, before she arched her décolletage gracefully, lips barely brushing the surface of the water. She glazed into her reflection, and beyond. She saw the golden river-bed she knew so well, as well as her own form. Then she peered into her own dark emerald eyes, as if she could read the answers to her thoughts in her reflection. With no such luck, after a few moments she prickled her ears, her eyes glittering like emeralds as they happened upon the shape of a dark equine, also Kelpie.
She tilted her head slightly to the side as she studied his dark form; she felt a shiver run through her as she considered her prospect. Her voice as crisp, cool and musical as always exited her parted maw, “So you’re the one that was kicking around up here.” It was a statement of fact more than a question. It hurts me to say that it hurts me to stay And it might be alright if you go

♣♣♣♣♣
Exodus had been out for some fifteen minutes now and he was beginning to feel the frigid cold engulf his body. The went sending bone shattering chills down his drying body. Each fine hair damped to some point. The cold on land was nothing like the cold that lay in the ocean depths. It was freezing almost always because the sun rarely ever reached that far down even on the hottest days, but still Exodus found his skin reacting to the cold and he felt himself grow annoyed. However, it was his breed that allowed him to not really feel it on the inside. There wasn't much cold for him as the little body fat he had burned to keep him warm upon land and so he thought this to be a way of...getting rid of the fat he didn't need, that he would restore later when he grazed upon the seaweed in the morning and then heading off to sleep. He was an odd animal like that. Sleeping during the day and rising at night to seek out his prey. Closing his eyes, he recalled last night's death.
That poor filly never really did have much of a chance. Her horn wasn't even grown in yet when Exodus took her. She had been so naive that Exodus felt almost bad rending her soul over to the Gods. But hunger was hunger and had been stupid enough to follow him. He took his time getting her into the water, even taking a few steps out himself to show her that everything was perfectly okay, normally. Nothing would get her with that big bad stud around... Lies. His favorite thing. To lie and con equine's out of their nature. Finally, the filly walked in to where she was swimming and Exodus took her down. Dragging her into the depths before she could even her mothers name. Poor mom. Her baby would be forever lost upon the dead in the bottom. Making her suffer, Exodus allowed her a breath at the time before dragging her under and shatter her right leg and then her left. The pain that drew across her face, he now saw in his eyes and a sickening shiver of joy ran down his body. He watched as she took that breath that would allow water into her lungs and drown her slowly. Within a minute, she went unconscious. and Exodus kicked her down with pity, leaving her to float to the ocean floor where she would forever be. Her new grave that was littered with many other bodies. Old and new.
A sudden noise broke Exodus from his night dream and his eyes opened in a flash. He waited a moment before making a move and then slowly he turned his audits to hear the beast better. Kelpie..Female Kelpie. The smell was inhaled through his lungs and suddenly coming upon shore didn't seem like such a waste tonight. He did not move for a few moments, allowing her to come upon land before turning around to get a better view of her. He ears twitched a moment before that voice of gold rang into his ears, but it was his breed that kept him from falling for it. It no more worked on him, then he would on her. A neutral standing between the two breeds. A smirk made its away across his maw before he veered around in a tight half circle to greet the face and voice. "Now, Now miss. Don't be so hasty. You know as well as I that there isn't much prey among the forest tonight." His voice...So deep. So husky running low into his vocal cords. Those dark eyes narrowing in on her and already his mind was turning with ideas, plans. Anything to perhaps make her his mare. He hadn't thought of that idea very lately. But she seemed...icy enough. Icy that their child would be of similar genes. A creepy smile now replaced the smirk and he took a step toward her. Tail of coal black drifting in the breezing behind him, a few hairs running along his hocks and outer leg. His mane blew out before him, tangling gently into one another. Exodus looked very much like a knight under the moonlight casting upon him.

I stared for awhile and waited for words Seen but not heard and struggle to try He turned towards her. This intrusion did not send a flicker of fear into her heart as you might suspect, as this other beast was easily larger then her own dainty size; she simply shut her optics, prickled her ears, and pranced in a light half circle so that he was facing her side, not head to head. Green light glittered as she blinked open her eyes, their azure spotted depths mysteriously covered by a light façade of teasing warmth. His dark inky black coat seemed to soak in, yet repel the shadows at the same time, it was almost the same way that her pelt captured, and defied light equally. She hummed her song under her breath, the sound soft, musical, and deadly alluring. She noticed his blank look, and a look of polite incredulity was passable on her delicate features. Her lips curved in a mocking smile, teasing with him, as if wanting him to try his hardest. She watched him move with almost a palpable air of satisfaction.
Finally. Someone at last.
This flagrant display of her whims was most charismatic and characteristic of her. A grin stretched her lips, eyes as innocent and as wicked, as the devil himself. She had just finished humming the third verse of her melody, as he finished speaking and she opened her mouth, the sweetest notes pouring out of her muzzle as she sang the last verse of her song. She dipped her attractive form into what could only be called a curtsy. “Greeting’s entire.” The simple words poured out of her soft muzzle with easy warmth. Her skin twitched, as she ridded herself of a pesky insect. The stallions eyes seemed almost bottomless, and she noted that with a smirk. She flicked her creamy white tail, her whipcord slapping softly against her haunches. She exhaled, and inhaled breathing in his masculine scent. Her pelt shivered, dislodging some clinging flies. At his voice the femme, Lumina turned her bright green eyes to him, they were full of life and sparkle. She nodded her head, accepting his words before taking a few steps forward, her daggers cutting into the malleable soil and creating gouges.
There was clear scorn in her musical voice, “Maybe you might be having trouble finding prey... I never have such difficulties.” She sighed lightly, her golden muzzle vibrated as she let out a quiet snort. She curved her neck around and looked at him, he was a sleek individual, and he had obviously gotten into few fights. She wondered if he had won the few that it looked like he had, or if the lack of scars were marks of defeats or of timid exits. Her milk-hue tresses were caught by a frolicking wind, and they covered her emerald and azure eyes for a few moments, covering any emotion she might have shown.
His voice was deep and dark, unlike those of other stallions who had made their tone a little too friendly. She wondered for a moment what this male wanted, before realizing that in fact she had approached him. She wet her kissers before beginning, her voice light and sweet, as usual, yet it was still cold and steely. “What is your name stag?” She asked, more like demanded, you who think. She tossed her head high, uncovering crystal clear optics, glazing into his eyes.
His eyes seemed bottomless, and she saw that they were not empty but fill with very subtle emotions. She glanced away, forelock hanging into her eyes once more. A delicate cup of an ear swiveled towards him, and she let out an inquiring nicker to hurry his answer. The femme was interested in conversation, not at having him scrutinize her like a piece of food. Her eyes rolled with annoyance, he was not one most would enjoy irritating.
Long lashes curled down softly over the planes of her cheekbones as she shut her eyes for a moment and arched out her décolletage. Her ears flattened against the poll of her crown, the barest glimmer of movement from her slender pillars, as she cocked her hoof. She was totally relaxed, and concentrating on what he was saying. Her eyes blinked open and she prickled her radars for an answer. It hurts me to say that it hurts me to stay And it might be alright if you go

♣♣♣♣♣
I won't bare it on my sleeve, and I won't hand it away.
A breath of air was heard as he sighed deep from within himself. A rather bored expression passing over his features. It was one he wore almost always when around other equines. Most of them would turn out to be a waste of his time anyway and then he'd wait for another night, another time to finally have a conversation with someone he couldn't really kill, but rather breed perhaps. His ears flickered at the sound of her humming, though it was faint and barely heard. Another stud may have inched toward her to hear better and a lesser stud might have even asked what she was humming, but he only turned his ears down once more and keep his eyes narrowed in on her, the only thing showing of some interest. He watched her for a moment and then that voice greeted his own audits once more and it brought a small smirk across his face. A greeting? It was one of very few he had ever gotten. It seemed most females didn't bother with that these days and to hear one made him want to chuckle, but he refrained from any emotion.
As those lyrics of hers once more reached his ears, he chuckled. It was light and sarcasm could be detected within the chuckle itself. " Why now, I could be looking at my prey right in front of me."It was more of a remark rather than a threat. Simply making it known that he wasn't one to let things slide and that he wasn't a gentle beast. If she made shady remarks about him, he would take it upon himself to give punishment. It was how he had been brought up. Those rules pounded into his head again and again by his sister...And even she had been a female. But Exodus never touched her. He would never touch the equine that saved his life from creasing to exist. He owned her too much to follow those rules around her, however this female was not like that. She was not Exodus's sister and he would treat her as such. His respect was never given, but earned and she had done nothing to gain it. And he didn't expect her to try. No one cared for respect anymore or rarely anyone did. He, however, held it high on his list of prioritizes. He would enforce no matter what.
He did not let those words break his expression, nor cause much movement. Only his maw moving with words. He didn't even twitch his body to rid himself of the few flies that were biting on his body. He was thankfully at times like this, knowing he could return to the water and there wouldn't be a single fly to bother him like all the others on land. He would sink down, enjoy the temperature and perhaps even take a little nap... Yes, times like these reminded him of how thankfully he was.
He shuffled his feet in place, sending sand flying every in almost every direction, but it fell a few inches in front of him as he had planed. He hated always being completely still and at times like these, that movement was enough to keep him content. At least for now it was. He looked up at her from the ground he had been looking at and smirked." My name.." His voice trailed for a moment. " Is Exodus. And what is yours, might I ask? " He sighed deeply. " Or are you going to be difficult like many others who don't wish to reveal their name?" It was clear in his expression that if she didn't wish him to have her name, he wouldn't pry. He didn't care enough to pry. He would call her she or it if he had too. Anything, but actually try for her name...
Sink away from my heart, Deep down away from its coldness.

I stared for awhile and waited for words Seen but not heard and struggle to try The femme spared the male another quick glance. If he chose not to speak with her, so be it. She wasn’t one to crawl on the floor and beg for attention. She demanded attention in everything she did. In every move she made. She was impressionable. She was one of those kick ass action figures in their past. She was as graceful as a dancer, snooty as a Lady, as ferocious as a queen. She lifted her head, her crème hued tresses dancing across her neck as if each individual shimmering strand had their own agenda. Her forest green eyes glittered azure due to the miniscule fleck of sapphire that caught the fading moonlight, she walked a few meandering steps away from the masculine. Her long pillars dug into the sand with an almost palpable air of satisfaction. She was happy enough to have found someone to talk to. The ever dwindling masses of the inferior land lofters was indeed making it more difficult to find entertainment for the night, but then again, it was not too difficult as her voice reached far and wide, and drew her prey like a moth to a flame.
The stand tickled her hocks, her palomino coat turned silvery underneath the cools glare of the moon. She idly kicked out against the sand, she knew that the motion was pointless, as the sand simply was thrown into the air by her motion, but it appeased her impatience. The mare, suddenly stricken with the deathly throes of boredom turned her attention back to the masculine that stops a few paces from her. Her timing mayhap could have been better, for he spoke as she looked at him. She supposed this entire thought she was listening to him. She caught the tone more than the words that fled his maw like butter, smooth, slick and positively disarming, but she snorted with distain. “You could indeed; whether or not I’d be so quick as to become your prey as you are to label me as such would be a different story. Prey or be preyed upon... Though in light of that fact, you should be worried if whether you would become my plaything.” The femme smirked, scornfully, “Do not fall into such of my claims for they reek of lies... Prey would have to get much scarcer for me to consider prettying upon one of my own.” She smiled innocently, her crisp, crystalline tones delighted, “Not to say that I’ve never taken a Kelpies life... Its somehow more fun to watch one of your own thrash in the throes of death.” Her tone was marked with interest and her eyes sparkled with vibrate life as she looked to him.
There had been two of her own kind that she had slaughtered. Two lives that are on her hands that she actually counted as deaths: The other ‘deaths’ that she had arranged had been entertainment, not truly a battle, but as poisonous as a simple song. The femme thought about the two she had killed: One of which had been a stallion, the one who she had once loved, and the other the stupid mare that had gotten in her way. The mare had been Lumina’s sister Kiiin, who had tried to defend the sleeping stag. Kiiin had no luck against Lumina, as in the time where Lumina had been honing her instincts and building her fury and hate, Kiiin had been aimlessly in love with Lumina’s stallion.
Oh the complications of betrayal, a betrayal that will never be forgiven, and never be forgotten. My heart is so changed now, so armoured. It is sinfully exciting now that I think of their deaths, it makes me positively gleeful.
His words back her head swing back towards him. Her eyes were flat and cold as they looked him over. “Well Exodus, my name is Argint Lumina, and you may call me as such.” She flattened her ears at his question, her tail thrashing against her hocks. “Why would I both to play the tease? The mares who feel the need to do that only display their own need for attention.” She tone reeked of distant distain for such a foolish femme. Why does her gender always act so stupidly when they happen upon a wandering stallion? It gave them all a bad name. She didn’t study his expression to see if her name meant anything to him, she was known by many of the land lofters, from their fear, but not many of her kind bothered with her, they knew that she could not compel them with her song. It hurts me to say that it hurts me to stay And it might be alright if you go

♣♣♣♣♣
Follow me dear, follow me. I swear I'll do no harm.
He watched with a bored expression on his face as she kicked the sand, playing with it has she had. Exodus loved the sound of sand when it hit the ground once more. It also loved the way it felt against the bottom of his hooves. Rough and grainy. It was like a massage that nature had created just for him and since it seemed to be just that, he used it to his advantage. Exodus continued to watch her every move, the way she looked at him. He wasn't going to pounce on her. He'd rather use the element of surprise than to do it blankly in front of her...But he wouldn't. He wouldn't kill his own kind, his own species. Kelpies needed to breed, to produce more of their own kind because of the war around them against the discussing flying creatures and the horned ones that followed. Discussing...All of them. The only Kelpie Exodus would ever kill would be a male and that was if he was attempting to steal a mare, or kill her off. This was the cunning ideas that went on his large, intelligent mind. Always thinking about ways to get himself further, to get more power. Thoughts were like this all the time in his mind and he used them often enough to get just what he wanted, when he wanted or needed.
He snorted loudly and gave way to a dark chuckle that rumbled his vocal cords. " I would never be such a thing. A playtoy to such?" He shook his head and in the process sent his mane in a wavy of dismay, each hair landing in a different place it had been." I don't believe myself to ever be such a thing, nor ever would I. I'm sorry to say, but I favor death too much to ever want to follow a Fae around all day. I would have..." He let his deep voice to trail for a moment before continuing." Better things to do." He chuckled once more before looking at her. She was, indeed, making it clear that she was rather different than the Kelpie females he was use to, but nonetheless he would treat her the same. Why would he treat her any differently? He began walking forward slowly, taking each step with caution. But not of her, rather on how she would react to him advancing forward. " I would hope not. We need to rise against the others and it seems we are not doing so. Our breed will die out if we aren't carefully." His tone was deadly as he spoke, showing how much he hated Unicorns and Pegasus. Blasted creatures that shouldn't have been put on this earth in the first place. They only ruined everything, but Exodus had long decided that they had been placed on this earth for his meal time entertainment. It was, after all, what he did before feasting upon seaweed and such.
He smirked." Your aren't the only one who has killed another Kelpie. Perhaps, we had done this act for different reasons, but taken the lives nonetheless." Exodus had killed Kelpie colts. Drowned them and slit their throats in the water when their mothers had left them to go find food. He didn't want other stallions around the mares he would breed later on in life...He knew one day he would get old and when he did, another stallion might kill him to get the mares for himself. Now, Exodus couldn't let that happen so he did what he had to do and finding that he took...pleasure in doing it. He had killed, perhaps, countless males from his herd before leaving it completely. The mares becoming old and not producing many more females themselves. They would take care of their selves, he had decided one day and then he left without word. Not even telling his own mother who he was sure was dead by now.
"Argint Lumina." He said it under his breath in the air, getting a feel for her name upon his tongue. It was a different name, no doubt, but pretty. It was different from the one word names he often heard, like his own. All though, even if he did have a long name, he would've shortened it. He wouldn't be able to stand it. As she continued, he lifted his head higher, looking down at her. But no looking down at her. Just since he was so tall. " I never would've placed you to be one of those 'mares' though I understand what you are talking about. They seem to be everywhere now in days and its very annoying..." He shrugged as he said this. He couldn't help that mares were like that, just like she couldn't. Turning his head to look out in the water, he sighed deeply. The water seemed to be calling to him and he was beginning to turn completely, his mind not even thinking about her for a moment. Suddenly, he began a slow walk to the beach. Hooves digging into the sand and that feeling sending pleasure of his leg and into the rest of his body. Exodus reached the edge of the water and placed a hoof in and then another. He went in until he was chest deep and then he turned to look back at her. " Excuse me, But I no longer find the land to my liking." It was one of those bi-polar moments he came upon at night and he had no other choice, but to go with him as he didn't even know he was doing it normally.
I'm empty and heartless, Don't fall in my trap.

I stared for awhile and waited for words Seen but not heard and struggle to try The femme wasn’t particularly afraid of the entire before her. Sure, she may be misjudging him, but he seemed to her to be decent enough to chat with. Her cold orbs flicked over their surroundings. “As sweet a rose until and thorn, as sweet our love until your scorn” She rhymed loosely, her mind wandering as she eyes still lay idle on the stallions coat. She tilted her head slightly, as if her mock her words, but the sound was more musical then a simple rhyme, and it seemed like a half-forgotten lyric. In her mind she was still yet to be truly impressed by this stallion. He seemed demanding and as arrogant as most, but also seemingly at least slightly smart which was... new... As every other male Lumina had chanced across had seemed incredibly stupid, but the same was to be said for any of her own gender that she had passed. She wondered if their entire race was just growing dumber by the decade or if she was just spectacularly impatient with those who were a touch slower than her. She smiled to herself, finding the mere thought that she might be too demanding for her race, amusing. The smirk that curved her lips was quickly concealed as she realized the entire’s eyes were upon her. The grin fell from her lips immediately, she didn’t want to give him false hope that she found him to be of any interest, or valuable entertaining amusement.
He seemed to watch her every move. She couldn’t help but to roll her eyes. It was clear that she was not that much of a threat to him, which left just one other reason why he would follow her with his eyes so intently and this was also the most obvious choice. She had always had her beauty. Her vain pride in her pelt had kept her warm when all else had ceased to please her. Ever since she was a foal her beauty had been noticed by others. Her parents had always been the most pleased with their middle daughter. Both her older sister, Kiiin, and her younger sister had been a pale gray, their scales shining with only the merest touch of magnificent silver. Meanwhile, Lumina’s rich palomino coat gave her scales a clear edge of gold in the sunlight, and bathed her coat and scales in glistening silver in the moonlight. Min internally shrugged a ‘whatever’ she didn’t know or care if her guess had been correct and there was no way she could verify her assumption unless she asked the masculine why he was looking at her... And she didn’t feel uncomfortable enough to make that much of a big deal out of a simple look.
His dark chuckle made her glance at him in surprise, flaring her delicately pink nostrils she exhaled in a huff. “It’s better to be my play thing than to be my enemy. You mayhap be embarrassed to follow me as your tendency is to desire, but it would be smarter if the other option is to find yourself sinking into the bottom of the ocean. Not that I would offer such a position to you, but to some... A plaything would be a much more delightful option.” Her voice was light and sweet, but never less her emerald eyes focused on his with a short intensity, warning him just as he warned her. She wasn’t interested in taking him into the depths with her, but neither would she allow the insolence in his tone to go without rebuke. The femme’s crème hued whipcord slapped against the haunches as she viewed him with icy eyes.
His slow steps towards her did not frighten nor excite her. She only watched him with dull interest, her eyes only flickering back to life at his words. She savoured this conversation between them. It had been so long since she had taken part in an honest to goodness conversation with another equine. His words made her voice burn with a greater intensity. “We need not numbers. We shall not fail. How can those land lofters even attempt to take a stand against us? Our voices are bewitching to them. We will let them fight each other, pick our best singers, and lure their armies into the water and let them drown as we watch.” The femme’s eyes glowed with savage excitement as she thought of luring all those proud soldiers to their deaths. She grinned slowly, her eyes amused. “Are you saying that to keep our breed from extinction we’ll all have to start popping out little Kelpies?” There was amusement in her voice, but it was tampered a little by the disgust that choked her whenever she considered the ugly possibility of having a foal.
A curve of a smile ghosted across the femme’s kissers. So he has killed, she thought briskly, looking at him with a new found respect. By the tone of his voice, he had also enjoyed the killing. Lumina concealed a grin when she dropped her head to the ground, cropping the grass efficiently, even though she found it tasted bland when not grown in the water. She had always preferred eating seaweed as opposed to grass, but she wanted to stay near this entire, and so, continue their conversation. He murmured her name and she arched her neck, lifting her head to see why he was calling her. Seeing no reason, she looked to him curiously and then with an icy disapproval as he started to walk back to the water. As if an invisible thread was pulling her along, she followed, each step heavy with a dainty hesitance.
Feeling almost as if she had no choice, as if she wanted to continue the conversation she would have to follow him, she sighed, and stepped into the water once more. Her sleek form slid into the water, her head disappearing underneath the surface within a second of her hooves first touching the liquid. “I will come.” Her reply was short, but yet, the water seemed to enhance her tones in every way. It was clear that she was in her element as she pushed off of the sandy bottom and started to swim into deeper, darker waters, half wondering if he was following. It hurts me to say that it hurts me to stay And it might be alright if you go

I awake at night along, But I don't fear....
He listened to those lyrics that rang ever so clearly in his ears and wondered what song they came from, or perhaps a poem. Exodus's mother use to sing to him all the time. He couldn't recall them to his head at the moment, but he was sure they would come back to him in time. He just needed something that would render his mind to bring them back. Exodus never spent much time trying to get lost ideas to come back. He figured there was a reason they had vanished and were safely tucked away, out of his reach. Maybe a memory that would cause him more mental pain than he already dealt with on a daily basis. Either way, he never pondered over it long enough to waste time. Exodus just moved on and soon or later it came back to him. He wondered, for a few minutes, if she thought that he was eying her because of her pelt or gender, maybe even her beauty. He would admit it. She was beautiful, but life wasn't about looks. His looks were deceiving hers good be too. Why base it off of such a thing? But really, he was eying her because he hadn't seen a Kelpie in a rather long time. It was good to see something that was of the same species before him rather than prey and such. It was refreshing and he wanted to keep the memory locked in his mind for later uses if he needed to bring himself back to reality. Back to the world where others belonged and not just himself.
He shrugged as he stood in the water. It seem to roll off him like it was oil, not dampening his pelt." No, but we need strong Kelpies. Breeding is the only way I could ever think of enhancing the voices of even the most closed off creatures. Theories, such as yours, would take years. Though its a good one, I'd rather have the land walkers killed off sooner than later. Whose knows. They could begin to breed immune foals. Ones that walk upon land and do not fall for our ever lovely voices. It could happen, you know. The world as an odd way of reminding us that we are not its rulers." So Exodus proved himself to be wise as well. It was his father's thoughts he held. It was proven, that over time, everything evolved so that its killer had a harder time killing it, but then the predator also evolved. It seemed which ever evolved faster was the one that would win. At least, this was the way Exodus saw it. Exodus wasn't like most males. He didn't want to breed everything he came in contact with that had a pulse. He wanted to breed for the right reasons. For evolving the breed to make it become stronger, to out last the rest because no matter how hard Kelpies fought there was so promise they would win. Why not ensure it with an evolved generation?
He sighed for a moment, knowing well that she would probably follow. She had been up there rather long as well and must be getting to grow suffocated from the lack of carbon and oxygen. His gazed along her bodice as she strolled into the water. Like him, she was made for the water. Every inch of her body proved to say so and it was clear in the grace of her movements. I'll come. He wanted to smile, even it was a little one. But he didn't. Smiles didn't get him anyway not that he had many places to go. But inside, he was rather happy she would join him in the water. It seemed an awful long time for him to be with someone of his own kind let alone a female. It was nice and he was basking in the new light it was giving him. Of course, it wouldn't make him change his ways or anyway, but it did help to relieve the stress. The stress of his ever constant thoughts. His father screaming inside of his head, telling him he needed to this and to do that. As if Exodus, of all Kelpies, was the one that would save the breed from completely dying out. Wrong...He had other plans. He wanted to live a simple life. Kill, eat, fight, sleep, talk. Maybe one day he would have a nice mate, but he doubted that strongly. It never worked out for him in the end. He was either to cold, too closed off or they seemed to be the must annoying thing alive. In which case, he killed them. Damaging his own species and not caring in the process. What was this world really coming too? Back in the 'old days', life was that simply. Now it was confusing and it seemed everything had a twist or a turn to throw at him. Looking up and seeing her move on, he followed. Walking forward before sliding on the cut off and sinking below the water, dipping low and nearly disappearing within the vast darkness that called out to him.

I lost that emotion, Long ago.
My actions, my actions I can't control. My thoughts upon this pitiful place. The sounds that escape my very maw.
