Alexandrie
It was dark and cold here.. I couldn't really see either... But I allowed my ears to guide me and the smallest amount of light to show me the way. I knew coming into this place was a stupid idea, but when did I ever really do the smart thing. I was at a slow place, taking my time and laying each hoof down slowly, gracefully. My horn had already punctured a few of the trees, but they would live. I'm sure. If they lived without this much light, they would live getting a small dime sized hole in their truck. But there. That was my cold side coming out...Well I didn't really have a nice side, I'll admit to anyone. Anyone that stayed around long enough which wasn't often. In fact, it had happened a matter of three times in my life. My father, my dead mate, and a stallion I recently met who I was still unsure about. Stopping for a moment, I perked my ears. Alert. This place was dangerous and I was craving the thrill it was giving me, however, If I were to die today I wanted to know it was coming. I wanted to feel pain and slowly sink away. I wanted that...Yeah, My father did always say I was rather insane.
Alexandrie walked slowly through the suffocated land scape. Her pale blue eyes blind in this shade of darkness, but still she felt no fear being in here. She felt...almost at home even though most of her senses couldn't even work in such an environment. It didn't matter. She was here to explore, to find silence and she was currently succeeding. Perhaps, if someone could see in such a darkness, they would be able to see her slender body. The coal black coloring that coated nearly every inch of her pelt. However, fine hairs of grey came in dapples along her stomach and haunches. Barely seen when she was even in daylight, let alone this kind of darkness that surrounded her. A fine black tail cascaded down the end of her rump and neatly brushed the top of her hocks. She let it drape down behind her, knowing that someone could sneak up on her and if it was a male...She would be doomed in this kind of stage of darkness. So the thick mess of hair draped behind her like a protector against outsiders. A sheet of ebony black hung down the either side of her neck. The ride side was thicker than the left and held more wavy, but either side was like a curtain. Keeping that slender neck of hers unseen from viewers. Raven black hooves barely left prints on the ground as she walked light as a feather making her way through such an unknown place. She knew her smell alone would be left, but no her tracks. The earth would quickly take them away and show that not a creature had disturbed the surface when really she had. Alexandrie suddenly breathed in deeply. Air filling in her lungs and smells of death grabbed hold of her nares. She quickly exhaled and stopped. This didn't smell like the place she had been before. This place was...much darker and she was swimming in it. The loveliness of this place was like a dream come true and now that smell. Oh, the smell she hadn't breathed in for so long... It struck her and it struck her hard. Enough to set her mind whirling with the scene of killing her own foal...Only this time as she went back, it wasn't with regret or even shame. It was with pleasure and joy and she was soaking in it. It was sickening and she knew it. But still... She did not try to fight those feelings.
The foal, a colt, was beautiful...Even to Alexandrie's hateful eyes. He was thin and tall. Promising to be much bigger than both his father and mother, carrying the gene of height. He was midnight black, the color penetrating so deeply within each fine hair. Everything about him was and even his eyes were black... He looked up at his mother with those longing eyes, pleading for her to not him any more than she already had. But she didn't stop. Alexandrie couldn't stop now when she had gone this far into insanity. How quickly it was to rage within her mind with the first strike, the first blow, to her day old colt. The colt had cried and Alexandrie had even let a tear slip from her eye, but still she continued. She continued until he was ripped to shreds, nothing left but black skin and a pool of young blood never given the chance to grow old. He had never even gotten to try grass or his mother's milk. Alexandrie stared, horrified by what she had done...But no guilt crossed her mind or even her soul. It was that day she deemed herself heartless, cruel, cold blooded and insane. But it wasn't a daily thing. Only something that would come up within her every once in a while. Something she could feel bubble up inside of her before she snapped and the nearest thing to her, died. Shredded just like she had done to her own child, her own son. Her twisted horn had been covered in blood that day. Every inch of it and she had a rather large horn. It dipped around her ear, curving to cross her forehead and then it grew down before twisting out in front of her about two feet. Sharp as needles and as quick as a whip. All bloody...With her own kin. It was repulsive.
Alexandrie's eyes, which had been closed during that moment, snapped open. No, she would not allow herself to sink once more into the grips of insanity. No matter how much it called or screamed for her to relapse just one more time, she refused. But the bubbling of it was creeping into her throat. A vile taste filling her maw and she wanted to run. She wanted to break free of this dark forest and find light...Maybe light would keep it down within the deepest pits of her stomach. Alexandrie couldn't find her way, though and so she sank...She sank deep into it and allowed it to swallow her whole. She gave her being up to it and it took her mind...Dots of blood red now seen in her pale blue eyes. It was times like these when she was dangerous, crazy, and when she should be locked away. But she kinda was, wasn't she? Caged in by the darkness around her. The darkness that kept her from seeing the outside world and with the little part of her mind that was still sane, she was thankful for being here. Alone and empty.
